The Criminal Assets Bureau, as part of its ongoing commitment to training and upskilling of Divisional Asset Profilers, hosted a Capstone Training Day on Tuesday 24 May 2022.

137 Divisional Asset Profilers were trained by the Criminal Assets Bureau over the past 15 months and this Capstone event is a culmination of this training. These Profilers come from all Divisions within An Garda Síochána, including Gardaí seconded to the Department of Social Protection and also from the Customs service. This training focused particularly on developing the skills of local Detective and Drugs Unit Gardaí, supporting Operation Tara in targeting local criminals.

CAB Divisional Asset Profilers were encouraged by the Chief Bureau Officer, Detective Chief Superintendent Michael Gubbins to build on the “unique relationships Gardaí have with all communities since the foundation of the State”.

The Criminal Assets Bureau Divisional Asset Profilers are the “Eyes and Ears” of the Criminal Assets Bureau and their mission is “identify criminals and identify proceeds of crime” in line with the CAB mission to “deny and deprive”.
