The Criminal Assets Bureau, with the assistance of the Garda Regional Armed Support Unit (DMR Region) and local Gardaí, conducted a search operation this morning, Friday 22nd of November 2019 in counties Carlow and Dublin.
Three residential properties were searched, one in County Carlow, one in Dublin 16 and one in Dublin 24.
The following was seized:
- Approximately €5,000 in cash
- A DeWalt Drill
- Documents.
Restraining orders under Section 17(2) of the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act, 2010 have been obtained in respect of in excess of €60,000 in 3 Financial Institutions.
The Bureau investigation is focused on the assets of members of an Organised Crime Group made up primarily of members of the one family who are involved in incidents of Burglary, Theft, Fraud and in the provision of sub-standard renovation and repair work at the homes of elderly and vulnerable.
